(English) Mr. Aurang Zeb Zia has two Master’s degrees to his credit, one from Pakistan and the other from University of Manchester, England (UK) in Economics and Social Studies. He has over 15 years of work experience in Monitoring and Evaluation and Project Management. He worked as Team Lead/Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist on USAID funded FIRMS Project, Assessment and Strengthening Program (ASP) and Punjab Enabling Environment Project (PEEP), Evaluation Expert with Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Lead Monitor for Conflict Pool Projects in province of Punjab funded by Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), DFID and Ministry of Defense (MoD), UK. Mr. Zia has developed robust monitoring and evaluation and data management systems to track progress against targets, outcome and impact indicators and involved in capacity assessment and institutional capacity building of both Public Sector as well as Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) all across Pakistan. He also developed manuals, Performance Management Plan (PMP), M&E Systems, M&E Results Framework and Annual Work Plans and also provided trainings to the concerned M&E staff on M&E protocol.

Being an expert in conducting baseline and end-line surveys, he developed survey tools and instruments to collect data on the progress of Program activities as well as on the impact of completed interventions. He was involved in the development of Project Monitoring and Evaluation System (PMES) for Planning Commission Government of Pakistan. While serving as M&E Specialist for the ADB/DFID funded Punjab Devolved Social Services Program (PDSSP), Mr. Zia monitored the activities of 35 district governments of the Punjab province and developed a database for the same districts within Punjab on Education, Special Education, Health and Water Supply and Sanitation. He served as a Managing Director for over five years with Universal Vision Canada where he managed a 50-person staff through periodic monitoring and evaluation protocol. Besides, private sector, Mr. Zia also worked in Public Sector Organizations and understands Government Systems.
