Ali Shahzad, PAS
A member of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Mr. Ali Shehzad, Project Director PHCIP, graduated from Princeton University, USA (MPA International Development) in 2017. He is a public professional dedicated to innovative approaches for poverty alleviation, inequality reduction, business process re-engineering, governance reform and improved delivery of public services. A problem-solver and optimizer by way of his internal training as an Engineer (Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, GIK), he believes in getting things done – more effectively and efficiently.
Starting his career as Assistant Commissioner, Battagram and Mansehra (KPK), he has made his mark at various positions he has held during 15 years of service. He has been Additional Secretary in two of important departments in Government of the Punjab i.e. Finance Department and S&GAD. He has also served as Deputy Commissioner in four districts of Punjab namely Faisalabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Muzaffargarh.
Mr. Ali Shehzad took up his role as CEO, Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) in February 2023. He is responsible for overseeing all matters related to the policy making and practices of PSPA, providing strategic leadership to the organization and supervising the process of policy conception, formation and implementation. He also puts great emphasis on Human Resource Management, Finance, Accounting and Legal & Management Affairs of the Authority to optimize performance for beneficial outcomes. Being a strong proponent & practitioner of participative leadership, he believes in teamwork and in creating synergies with all the actors working in the domain of social protection in Punjab, for robust and effective social protection planning and implementation.
