PHCIP and NADRA Sign Landmark Agreement to Strengthen Collaboration

May 5, 2025
A significant agreement was signed today between the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project (PHCIP) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to ensure timely birth registration and completion of immunization for newborns regarding the Aaghosh program. The signing ceremony was held at the office of the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA).
According to the agreement, NADRA will verify birth certificates issued by the Union Council free of cost, enabling timely enrollment of children in the Aaghosh Program. The agreement was signed by DG NADRA Punjab, Fizza Shahid, and Chief Executive Officer PSPA/Project Director PHCIP, Ali Shehzad.
This initiative, through the collaboration of the Local Government Department and NADRA, will aid in the timely registration of a child’s age within the civil registration system and ensure that only those women and children who are properly registered in the Aaghosh Program and meet the eligibility conditions receive financial assistance.
The Aaghosh Program of the Government of Punjab is a commendable initiative aimed at improving the health and development of pregnant women and newborns. Under this program, every registered mother in 13 underprivileged districts of the province is provided with up to PKR 23,000 in financial assistance, conditional on antenatal checkups at Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics, safe delivery, timely birth registration, and child immunization—so that every child can grow up healthy and well-nurtured.
