Lahore, 7th September, 2023: A Knowledge Dissemination Workshop was organized today by Programme Monitoring & Implementation Unit, School Education Department of Government of Punjab, to feature the package of quality teaching and learning resources on ECCE (Early Childhood Care & Education). Developed under the education component of Punjab Human Capital Investment Project, the resource package includes ECCE Learning Framework, contemporary assessment framework for foundational learning, lesson plans, and student activity books.

Mrs. Kulsoom Saqib, Special Secretary School Education Department Punjab participated as the Chief Guest and key stakeholders from the Federal and Provincial Governments, experts from the Private Sector and representatives of Development Partners were also present. The School Education Department, Punjab is implementing the education component of PHCIP with the name of Bunyad. The component focuses on revamping the service delivery structure of ECCE in 11 target districts of southern Punjab. Under Bunyad, the Department has refurbished 3,400 ECCE rooms, provided age-appropriate furniture, interactive learning kits, and supplementary reading books. Today’s workshop marked the accomplishment of one of the milestones in improving foundational learning outcomes in public sector schools.
