Umar Mehmood, Additional Director Planning, presented the meeting’s agenda, focusing on the utilization of PHCIP funds in accordance with the annual work plan, as well as discussing targets and achievements. CEO Mr. Ali Shehzad emphasized the need to enhance fund utilization to meet the Project goals.

The meeting also included a review of the progress of PHCIP’s three components: Aaghosh, Khud Mukhtar, and Bunyad. The CEO instructed the acceleration of productive asset distribution to Khud Mukhtar program beneficiaries to ensure timely goal achievement.

Ali Mazhar, Additional Director Communications, provided updates on the Public Information Campaign, including information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, and branding for the Aaghosh program. The transportation of IEC materials has commenced in the project districts, and Deputy Commissioners have been notified for record keeping, dissemination, and installation of Aaghosh IEC and branding material. Deputy Directors of Development from each district are actively involved in this initiative. Additionally, a mass media campaign for the Aaghosh program has also been developed.

The meeting also covered the implementation status of decisions made during the World Bank’s Implementation Support Mission. Updates from the Health and School Education teams regarding their respective components were provided. The CEO expressed satisfaction with the overall progress of the Project and urged the team to work more efficiently to achieve the project objectives.
