In a District Coordination Committee Meeting, held under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Muhammad Anwar Briar, Punjab Human Capital Investment Project’s Aaghosh, Khud Mukhtar and Bunyad programs’ performance was reviewed. In this meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Saber Hussain, CEO Health Dr. Athar Sukhani, Dr. Saeed Ahmed, District Focal Person Tahir Abbas Tareen, District Field Officer Kafeel Buzdar, Abid Ali, Malik Attaullah and local officers were present.

District Focal Person Punjab Social Protection Authority, Tahir Abbas Tareen, while giving a briefing in District Dera Ghazi Khan on the progress of PHCIP programs, said that in District Dera Ghazi Khan, to date 17,333 women associated with the Benazir Income support program, had registered at health centers and, after successful enrollment, were now enjoying the benefits of the Aaghosh program.

Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) facility has been provided at 194 schools under the Bunyad program. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Anwar Briar, while appreciating the performance of the PHCIP team, said that all possible support will be provided from the District Administration for ensure the success of this Government of Punjab Project.

He further said that this program should be given maximum publicity to ensure women can benefit from it. He said that the PKR 72,000 package awarded under the Khud Mukhtar program has been giving skilled and unemployed people the opportunitiy to start a business for themselves and their families and, through this, improve their economic conditions.
