EVALUATION OF DIFFERENT HEALTH CENTRES UNDER THE AAGHOSH PROGRAM & DISTRIBUTION OF PRODUCTIVE ASSETS UNDER THE KHUD MUKHTAR PROGRAM IN DISTRICT RAHIM YAR KHAN

In District Rahim Yar Khan and Tehsil Sadiqabad, Punjab Human Capital Investment Project (PHCIP), an initiative of Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA), organized ceremonies to distribute productive assets to select beneficiaries from Benazir Income Support Program registered households.

Addressing one of the ceremonies, Mr. Aurangzeb Zia, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist PHCIP, said that the Khud Mukhtar Program is proving to be very beneficial for the people of underdeveloped districts in Punjab. Through this initiative, Benazir Income Support Program registered deserving households have been made capable of earning a living, and their economic conditions have improved.

On this occasion, he also held meetings with officials at the Institute of Rural Management (IRM) / National Rural Support Program (NRSP), and in Darhi Azeem Khan he met with President Learning Support Organization (LSO), Mr. Abdul Khaliq, discussing matters of importance in relation to the Khud Mukhtar Program.

Alongside this, he also made a visit to the beneficiaries of the Khud Mukhtar program to verify and assess their progress, and stopped in at look over their small businesses. Later on, he visited Badli Sharif and participated in the Khud Mukhtar program’s Labor Market Readiness (LMR) training, and also had a discussion with the beneficiaries regarding the effectiveness and benefits of the Khud Mukhtar program in an interactive session.

Visiting District Rahim Yar Khan, Mr. Aurangzeb Zia visited various health centers established in different tehsils, including Basic Health Units in Badli Sharif, Murtaza Abad and Zafarabad. He also visited Rural Health Centers in Mianwali, Qureshaiyan, Khan Bela, Turanda Muhammad Panah, and the recently upgraded Chak 5 NP Roshan Bhit.

At all the health centers he visited, Mr. Aurangzeb Zia held meetings with staff present to review the performance of the health facility and new services being provided thereunder. On this occasion, he gained valuable insights from discussions with women beneficiaries of the Aaghosh program, regarding the challenges they face in opening HBL Konnect wallet accounts and receiving Conditional Cash Transfers. He later held a special meeting with the HBL Business Development Officer and discussed the beneficiaries’ issues in opening their HBL Konnect Wallet and receiving funds, emphasizing the need to resolve them, so that the pregnant and lactating women beneficiaries of the Aaghosh program can avail benefits hassle-free.
