PSPA was delighted to host the World Bank delegation, jointly led by Ms. Nicole Klingen (Regional Director, Human Development) and Mr. Najy Benhassine (Country Director, World Bank Pakistan). Mr. Ali Shehzad, CEO of PSPA, warmly welcomed the delegation, which included Ms. Hnin Hnin Pyne (Senior Human Development Specialist), Mr. Manav Bhattarai (Senior Health Specialist), Ms. Amna Khan (Social Protection Specialist), and Ms. Iza.

The delegation engaged in a thorough discussion regarding the progress of both current and forthcoming social protection and human development initiatives in Punjab, notably highlighting the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project (PHCIP). They conveyed their appreciation and gratitude to CEO Mr. Ali Shehzad for his effective leadership and the team’s efforts, which led to the successful turnaround of the Project. Additionally, discussions covered other strategically important topics, such as the development and integration of socio-economic registries, and the distribution of social protection expenditure between federal and provincial governments.

Both sides expressed their resolve to continue cooperation toward fostering human development and enhancing the social protection regime in Punjab. As PSPA remains committed to advancing its mission of protecting the vulnerable segments of the population, the fruitful discussions with the World Bank delegation further strengthened the partnership aimed at achieving these shared goals.
